Do I need a boater's license to rent a boat?
No. You need a valid driver's license and must be at least 21 years old.
Can I rent hourly?
Yes, in the off-season and for walk-ins, based on availability. Online bookings require a longer minimum rental length.
Why is my rental price higher than the hourly rate?
Pricing adjusts with demand. Rates increase on weekends, holidays, and during peak summer dates.
Do you offer a military discount?
Yes. Active duty military and their families receive 10% off with valid ID.
What is your cancellation policy?
- More than 72 hours before your rental: no charge
- 48-72 hours before: $100 fee
- 24-48 hours before: $200 fee
- Less than 24 hours, same-day cancellation, or no-show: full rental price charged, no exceptions
What is included in the boat rental?
Every rental includes Coast Guard-approved life jackets, extra vests sized for children, a map of the lake, and all required safety equipment.
How does the gas work?
Boats leave the dock with a full tank. When your return, we refill the tank and add the fuel cost to your total.
Can I rent a tube?
Yes. Tubes are available as an add-on for any rental boat, including pontoons. Only our rental tubes can be towed behind our boats.
Is there a cooler on the boat?
Sport boats include a built-in cooler. Coolers are available to borrow for pontoon boats, based on availability.
Does the boat come with a driver?
No. We don't offer captained rentals. Someone in your group needs to drive the boat.
Can we water ski or wakeboard behind the boat?
No. We don't rent equipment for water skiing or wakeboarding, an we don't allow either activity behind out rental boats.
Can I rent jet skis?
No. We rent boats only.
Can I bring food on the boat?
Yes. Bring your own, or pick up snacks at the Boardwalk Store.
Are pets allowed on the boat?
Yes, for an additional $50 pet fee.
Is fishing allowed on the boats?
No. If you bring fishing gear, we'll hold it at the dock and return it at the end of your rental.
Is smoking allowed on the boat?
No. Smoking is not allowed on any rental.
Is alcohol allowed on the boat?
Yes, for passengers. The boat's driver may not drink.
Who is responsible for damage to the boat?
The renter is responsible for any damage that occurs during the rental period.
Where do I pick up my rental?
We're located on the floating Boardwalk behind the Resort building. Walk down the boardwalk to the copper-roofed store and we'll launch you from there.
Is this where I board the cruise boats?
No. Public cruises board at Independence Point, two blocks west of the Boardwalk.
Where do I park?
We're located on the water and don't have dedicated parking. Options include:
- Diamond Parking at 3rd and Front - $2.50/hour, about a 5-minute walk to the Boardwalk
- City Hall Parking at 801 E Bancroft Ave - free, about a 10-minute walk through McEuen Park
- Front Avenue street parking - fee all day on Sundays only, if you can find a space
When should I arrive for my rental?
Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time. This gives us time to go over the contract, explain boat operations, and get you out on the water on schedule.
Where can I store my things during a paddleboard rental?
Lockers are available for small personal items during paddleboard rentals.
