Paddle Boarding: A Fun Way to Get Exercise

Do you love the water? Do you enjoy getting out and being active? If so, paddle boarding may be the perfect sport for you! Paddle boarding is a great way to get exercise while enjoying the beautiful scenery of lakes, rivers, and oceans. In this blog post, we will discuss the basics of paddle boarding and why it’s such a popular activity. We will also provide tips on how to get started if you are interested in giving it a try.
What Is Paddle Boarding?
Paddle boarding is a great way to get out on the water and enjoy a little exercise. All you need is a board and a paddle, and you’re good to go. If you are brand new, check out our complete paddleboarding for beginners guide.
There are two main types of paddle boards: inflatable and rigid. Inflatable boards are made of a durable PVC material and are ideal for beginners or those who want to be able to pack their boards up easily. Rigid boards are made of either fiberglass or carbon fiber and tend to be lighter and faster than inflatable boards.
Whichever type of board you choose, make sure you get a paddle that’s the right size for you. Paddle boarding is a great workout for your arms, legs, core, and back, so your relaxing day also gets you a good day of exercise!

How To Get More Exercise On A Paddle Board
There are multiple ways you can turn a day of paddleboarding into an intense exercise that burns a lot of calories.
High-intensity paddling is easily the simplest way to up your calorie burning. This simply means speeding up how fast you are paddling. Keeping an intense pace for 15-30 minutes can burn up to 1000 calories! That’s more fun than running if you ask me.
SUP Yoga can be another great way to spice up paddleboarding. The intensity will depend on what type of yoga you use, but pick the one you like and enjoy your day out on the water. You will want a larger and more stable board if you want to do this.
SUP CrossFit is a simple way to take your workout to the water. Take some of your basic CrossFit exercises like pushups, situps, and more to make your day exciting. It’s hard to beat getting a workout in the sun on the water.
