What to pack to make the most of your pontoon boat rental.

What to pack for a day on a pontoon boat.

There are lots of fun things to do on Lake Coeur d’Alene during the summer. Even if you don’t have a boat of your own, Resort Boat Rentals has jet skis, stand up paddle boards and even pontoon boat rentals available. If you have a large family, young kids or even a group of friends, a pontoon boat is the perfect way to get out on the water! Pontoon boats are stable and safe, but still, have plenty of power to get you where you want to go.

Ready to board your rental boat and have a day of fun? Resort Boat Rentals will provide the life jackets, but there are a few things you’ll need to remember to bring. Here’s what to pack for a day on a pontoon boat:

  1. Sunscreen and other sun protectants
This is definitely one of the most important items on the list! Water reflects sunshine, so even on cloudy days, you’re at risk of getting too much sun. Lather up several times throughout the day, and cover up with a hat, scarf or swim shirt whenever possible.
  2. Lunch or snacks
You want to make the most of your day, so think ahead to pack lunch, dinner, and snacks. That way, you won’t have to stop unless you want to.
  3. Plenty of water!
Even though you’re physically ON the water, it’s important to stay hydrated! Bring enough water for everyone in your group. This will prevent dehydration, fatigue and other hydration issues.
  4. Towels, blankets, and clothes for cooler weather
As the sun goes down (or after you get out of the water after a cool dip!) you might get a little chilled. Or, use blankets for a picnic on a local dock while you take a break!
  5. Tunes
This one is self-explanatory! Just keep the volume at a respectful level.
